The Benicia Red Sox are a team of 13/14yr olds coached by public safety professionals. The goal of the program is to teach leadership, respect, and humility through sports. The team has no league backing and no sponsorships. Fundraising is one way the team encourages the players to work hard, stay focused, and reach their goals. Success in life, like success on the field, is based on hard work. There is no way around hard work. The coaches are not paid and take no stipend from the team. We are working toward playing in Omaha at the College World Series. We hope through seeing the success of 18 year old college students, our team will begin to understand what it takes to be a leader, learn from mistakes on and off the field, and will develop the grit/tenacity for the rest of their lives. Consider a donation to the team of $5, $10, $15, $20, or $50. Great way for public safety and youth to interact, communicate, and develop understanding before we are needed in their young lives.
